Vinícius Mello is a Brazilian engineer and the Head of Solutions Engineering for Latin America at Openlayer, where he partners with enterprise teams to deploy AI they can actually trust—bridging evaluation and governance with production engineering. Before Openlayer, he was Chief Data & AI Officer at Hurb, where he built and led machine learning teams from the ground up. He holds a degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering from UFRJ and spent 5+ years conducting applied machine learning research with the Brazilian Navy on passive sonar systems. His work spans AI infrastructure and MLOps, cloud platforms and distributed systems, and the full product lifecycle—from strategy to technical sales.
